Bakula's Moments | Scott in their own words ::.::.:..
This section of the site is devoted to those of you who wants to know what other actors, directors, and amongst others, have to say about our guy. Scroll down and take a look at some of the things they have to say about Scott !!

Jolene Blalock | Star Trek Communicator Issue # 137 ::.::.:..
Among them all, Blalock says, she has truly enjoyed her working relationship with Captain Jonathan Archer himself, Scott Bakula.

"He's so well-respected and knowlegeable and I'm sucking everything I can get from him like a sponge." She says and laugh.

"He's really perceptive and really strong. He really leads by example and he is very gracious with his knowledge. When I ask him 'How do you do it?' He's always there."

Matt Winston | Star Trek The Magazine, May 2002, Vol3 Issue 1 ::.::.:..
Matt Winston - Ensign Daniels

"I spent a good deal of time with Scott Bakula. I think the energy on the set usually trickles down from the top, and he certainly is the top of this show.

The very first time I met him he was so gregarious; a real guy's guy, very easy going, and I think his energy has passed onto everyone in the cast.

Anthony Montgomery | Starlog December 2002 # 305 ::.::.:..
When Enterprise came together, it just made sense. Everybody gelled. That is how this experience ahould be. There is no attitude, and that starts at the top.

Scott, being as seasoned as he is, is incredibly available to us. I think I talk to Scott more than I do to the producers. He has been on a Science Fiction show [Quantum Leap] and in the acting game for a while. He knows where my career is now and what might be in store for me. I always ask him for advice, and i'm trying to keep myself grounded through all this.

All of us are, and Scott is a great example.

Jolene Blalock | Dreamwatch Australia/New Zealand March 2003 ::.::.:..
"What is it like working with Scott Bakula?"

Where to begin? As a young actress I really feel fortunate, very lucky. The other day a guest actor who I'm working with turned to me and said how lucky I was. I hear everything. I notice everything. I know where everybody is. [I have] the perception of the ins and outs of working in front of the camera, and this actor was asking me where it all came from. I told him it was from Scott. He's been an incredible mentor for me. I just watch him. I soak it up, like a sponge. Everyday he comes to work with this let's-do-it attitude and he's ready to create. He's an incredible leader in every aspect of that word; just amazing.

Connor Trinneer | Starlog November 2002 #304 ::.::.:..
Likewise, Trinneer is grateful to have Quantum Leap star Bakula acting as his captain. "Scott has the chops. He's just a good actor." Trinneer says. "He's hard-working and prepared; he's done this before. For most of us in the cast, not everyone, this is our first real regular role on a series. I have to say I have learned a great deal about how to handle the work. Scott's an absolute pro. He keeps it light on the set and professional. When it's time to get to work, we get to work. Otherwise, we just have a good time together. I didn't know what to expect, but I had a feeling he would be a good guy. And it turns out that he's wonderful. He really sets the tone, playing the Captain and being the star of the show. The tone has been warm and positive, and that lets everyone achieve what they're trying to achieve. Scott has been great. He takes the lead and we follow.

Connor Trinneer | Star Trek Monthly Summer 2002 ::.::.:..
Trinneer likes his co-stars a great deal. "Scott Bakula is just a great guy. He knows how it all works. He's somebody I've already learned a great deal from and I will continue to do that."

Mark Rolston (Kuroda in Canamar) | http://www.trek5.com ::.::.:..
"Scott [Bakula] and I must have spent ten hours filming the fights. And let me tell you, both of us are in our 40's now so it's not quite as easy as it used to be." He laughs.

Roxann Dawson on "Vox Sola" | Star Trek Communicator #143 ::.::.:..
The actors trapped in the alien tentacles, especially Bakula and Connor "Trip" Trinneer, had to do some rather unpleasant work. "They were harnessed, stuck up there for hours, and smothered in goo," Dawson recalls. "It was a terribly difficult episode for Scott and Connor. But they were such troopers it was amazing.

Robert Duncan McNeill | Star Trek Communicator #143 ::.::.:..
McNeill was happy to get to direct Scott Bakula as Captain Archer.

"I had worked with Scott Bakula as an actor many years on Quantum Leap," McNeill explains. "I did a guest star role on that show. I was very impressed with Scott when I worked with him on Quantum Leap - and even more impressed to see him a little more closely as a director. He is a real professional, and he really sets the tone for that whole show in terms of attitude and professionalism."

As is in the case in many episodes Bakula's character was placed in precarious positions in "Cold Front".

"We had some stunt sequences in the episode," McNeill recalls. "He had to hang off the rails, being sucked out into space. He chose to do all of the stunts, hanging up on the rails, high above the stage, by himself. He didn't have a stunt man do it. He did it over and over, because we had some technical problems, and he never complained. He was great."

Connor Trinneer | Starburst #298 ::.::.:..
The Enterprise Ensemble.

The Enterprise universe may still be cooling from the fires of its creation last season but Connor Trinneer reports that one thing that is solidifying is the cast. As has been the case with other modern Trek incarnations, the actors on this ship have become more than co-workers. And that mood has been created, in part, by the on-screen captain of the whole enchilada.

"Scott Bakula sets the tone for everything." says Trinneer. "And he created a family. He sets a tone for the show, working on the show. Him being around on the show made the show better, and I think that him being around made every actor on the show better."

Trinneer doesn't go as far as to call Bakula the dad of Enterprise. "He's the man," he says simply. And apparently, the crazy uncle as well - much has been made about Bakula's prankster tendencies, including the captain's chair trick he pulled on Patrick Stewart during the making of Nemesis. His co-star, though, says a lot of the jokes are more subtler.

He just makes fun of everyone, and he does it in such a wonderful, positive, light way," says Trinneer. And we all make fun of each other. And that wouldn't have worked if we'd not had him around to show us. That's how you work together, that's how you work as an ensemble.
